Just look at a stream of sunlight coming in the window and you’ll clearly see that your air is full of dust!
These airborne particles can include dust, dander, pollen, mold spores, bacteria and pet hair, any of which can make life miserable for allergy and asthma sufferers.
4 things you can do:
- Change your air filter frequently. The air filter removes dust and allergens from the air as it circulates through your furnace. Not only does a dirty filter not work well, but it also makes your system work harder.
- Install a HEPA filter, an add-on to your home heating and cooling system that makes a significant difference in air quality by removing 99.97% of airborne particles.
- Replace your system’s PSC motor with an energy-efficient Evergreen ECM motor. The ECM motor is made to run constantly at low speed, which keeps air circulating through your house at all times. Your system’s air filter only works when the blower is circulating air, so the constant air flow will help moderate the allergens floating around your house.
- If your system is older than 10 years, you might just need to upgrade to a new, high-efficiency system powered by Genteq ECM technology.
Ask your Contractor:
Would I benefit from installing a HEPA filter? Should I upgrade to a system with ECM technology?
